The Sphynx progressed from Europe then around the world where cat breeders bred the Sphynx with normal coated cats and then back to hairless cats realizing the remarkable natural mutations and spontaneous appearance the sphynx carried. Over the progressive years this new breed of hairless cats went through various names to identify their naked appearance. They were called 'The Canadian Hairless', Moonstone Cats, Canadian Sphynx, then finally to just plain 'Sphynx'.Today, they are bred in many countries and shown all around the world in various cat associations, shows, and yes, even movies. As we know it today the Sphynx has proven to be a very robust breed with few health and/or genetic problems. The Cat Fancier Association (CFA) accepted the Sphynx breed for registration and competition in February 1998. w w w . b e e s o c a t t e r y . c o m |
